Cadet Zachary Freeman, a junior studying criminal justice, stays focused on earning good grades after earning a three-year IU Indianapolis Army ROTC scholarship. He competed with other qualified candidates for the campus-based scholarship program, which has strict qualification standards.

“The ROTC program has made me more disciplined—not just physically, but in all aspects of my life,” says cadet Freeman. “I get up early to get a jump start on my day, and I work even harder in school because I know I have a scholarship to earn.”

Cadet Freeman says paying for college will be easier thanks to the IU Indianapolis ROTC scholarship.

“I’ve been able to reduce the amount of my student loans, so I won’t have a mountain of debt to pay off when I graduate.”
